PROGRAM NOTE
Pray came from a need of serious reflection and patience. The electronic track is a combination of organ sounds, whispers, flute harmonics, and Islamic chanting. Much of the inspiration derives from the sounds of various places of worship. Though the piece is fully notated, the performer does not have to play in an exacting way. In fact, allow the spirit of the piece to guide your pacing and expression. The 4/4 bars are the only exception, and they must be played in time and as written.

PERFORMANCE NOTES
The flute should be slightly amplified in performance, in order to achieve a sonic balance with the electronic track. A monitor speaker is necessary for the performer to easily coordinate with the electronic track.
A simplified cue line for the electronic track is included for ease of synchronicity. For ease of notation, the cues sound an octave below as written.
Timings for the electronic track are indicated at rehearsal letters in the score for rehearsal purposes.
