There are many MuseScore resources out there, but the best way to really learn the software is through customized instruction.
Whether you’re just getting started with the software and need a general overview, a more experienced user looking to take your skills to the next level, or an advanced user in need of customized advice, look no further.
You’ll schedule an appointment with Steve Morell, an expert MuseScore instructor.
Steve is an expert MuseScore user, saxophonist, pianist, engraver and contributor to Scoring Notes, the authoritative web site about music notation software and related technology. Steve is a graduate of the famous Berklee College of Music and founded a sheet music startup called NiceChart that allowed music directors to customize arrangements automatically to any instrumentation and individual player proficiency. He has worked at Muse Group, and on the notation application StaffPad.
What to expect
Your session is individually tailored to you and is self-directed, so come prepared with questions and examples of things you’d like to cover. Your screen will be shared, and/or the instructor will share his screen with you, so you can see exactly what you need to do to achieve success in MuseScore and how to do it.
Sessions are remotely conducted via Zoom, so you can participate from anywhere. Once you book your session, you’ll receive an email prior to your session with details. A computer with an adequate internet connection is required, along with a microphone. You’ll need to be able to share your computer screen. Video is optional.
In advance of your session
Download Zoom on your computer. It’s free.
Gather your MuseScore file(s) together so that they can be easily accessed. Prepare any specific questions you’d like addressed.
Test your audio and video connection in Zoom in advance, so we don’t spend time troubleshooting, and get right down to business!
