MTF-Cadence was designed to bring back some of the subtleties of hand-engraved scores. It is carefully crafted to make the music “get out of the way” so the musician can focus on performing the music rather than getting distracted by what they see on the page. Thus, this typeface is designed to be used on all kinds of scores, from simple lessons and worksheets to the finest piano concertos and orchestral symphonies.
MTF-Cadence is bundled with the Source Serif 4 text font, a serif typeface in the transitional style, loosely based upon the work of Pierre-Simon Fournier, a French mid-18th century type designer. The letter shapes are simplified and highly readable. Its historical roots, combined with contemporary guidance, give the typeface a strong character of its own that will shine when used for extended text on paper or screen.
Music Type Foundry
Music Type Foundry was founded on the belief that computer engraved music doesn’t have to look like it was made on a computer and that each piece of music should look as unique as the person who engraved it. With an eye for artistic and functional detail and a relentless desire to get things done right, Music Type Foundry fonts are inspired by hand-engraved scores so that you can create with some of the most engaging designs found anywhere.
MTF fonts are fully SMuFL-compliant, so you can use them with ease, and switch freely among them, in any modern music notation software that supports the SMuFL standard, like Dorico, and work equally well on Mac and Windows.
Each MTF font comes carefully paired with a complementary text font, along with automatic engraving settings to draw out the finest characteristics of the typeface.
